DMM Traveling Milling Series Demo

Watch the DMM Traveling Milling Series perform automatic edge beveling on heavy plates. Industrial self-propelled plate beveler for 5-100mm plates.

This demonstration shows the DMM Series heavy-duty traveling plate edge milling machine propelling itself along a plate edge, milling a weld bevel automatically while the operator monitors rather than pushes.

What the Video Shows

The machine clamps the plate edge and drives itself forward on its own traction system — the plate stays put, the machine travels. The milling head takes a continuous cold cut, so even on thick plate the bevel surface comes out machined-smooth with no heat-affected zone and no flame-cut slag to grind off. The 300-450kg welded steel frame is what keeps the cut chatter-free through a full production shift; this is an industrial machine built for continuous duty, not an oversized power tool.

Series Capabilities

  • Plate thickness: 5-100mm across 4 models
  • Bevel angle: 0°-90°, infinitely adjustable
  • Motor power: 6.0-6.4kW milling drive
  • Related machines: DMM-1232 double-sided beveler, DMM-90X, and DMM-900X cover dual-side and dual-spindle configurations

Typical Applications

Traveling milling machines are the standard for long straight seams on heavy plate: shipbuilding hull panels, pressure vessel shells and heads, wind tower cans, bridge girders, and storage tank courses. Wherever plates are too large to feed through a stationary machine, the self-propelled format wins.
