Watch the ISE-II Series perform precision internal pipe beveling from inside the pipe

Overview

The ISE II-Model Series is our heavy-duty lineup of ID-mounted beveling machines, purpose-built for thick-wall pipe applications where standard machines fall short. With wall thickness capacity up to 75mm, these machines serve the most demanding sectors: nuclear power, high-pressure vessels, and offshore oil & gas.

Key Advantages

  • 75mm wall capacity - Handles extreme wall thicknesses for critical applications
  • Angled motor design - Superior torque transfer for heavy cutting loads
  • Robust clamping - Heavy-duty expansion mechanism for secure grip
  • Cold machining - No heat-affected zone preserves material properties

Which Model Should You Choose?

For medium pressure vessels and headers (80-240mm ID):
The ISE-252-2 is the entry point into heavy-wall beveling. Perfect for fabricators transitioning from T-Model work to thicker applications. Most pressure vessel shops start here.

For high-pressure piping and nozzles (150-330mm ID):
Choose the ISE-352-2—our most popular II-Model. It handles the sweet spot of pressure vessel nozzle work and thick-wall headers. If you only buy one II-Model, this is the one.

For large headers and thick-wall process piping (250-426mm ID):
The ISE-426-2 serves heavy industrial sectors: offshore platforms, LNG terminals, and major refinery projects where 300-400mm heavy-wall pipes are routine.

For major pressure vessels and nuclear (300-830mm ID):
Our ISE-630-2 and ISE-850-2 are purpose-built for the most demanding applications—nuclear power components, high-pressure steam drums, and subsea equipment where wall thickness and weld quality are critical.

Heavy-Wall Bevel Profiles

For walls over 20mm, weld joint design becomes critical. The II-Model produces:

  • V-Type Bevel - Standard 30°, 37.5°, 45° included angles
  • Compound Bevel - Root face (land) + bevel angle for controlled penetration
  • J-Prep (U-Type) - Radiused root with straight bevel, reduces weld volume
  • Double-J - Symmetric J-prep on both ends for minimum weld volume

Customization Options

  • Bevel Angle — Standard angles (30°, 37.5°, 45°), J-prep and compound bevels available
  • Drive System — Electric (ISOE), pneumatic (ISOP), or Metabo (ISOM) options
  • Voltage — 220V/380V AC standard, other configurations available
  • Tooling — Torque-limiting feed handle and specialty cutter sets available

Key Features

75mm Wall Capacity

Handles extreme wall thicknesses found in high-pressure vessels, main steam lines, and nuclear components.

Angled Motor Design

II-Model's angled configuration provides superior torque transfer for heavy cutting loads.

Robust Clamping

Heavy-duty expansion mechanism with larger contact area for secure grip on thick-wall pipes.

Multiple Bevel Profiles

V-type, compound bevel, J-type, and double-J configurations per ASME standards.

Cold Machining

No heat-affected zone preserves material properties critical for pressure-rated applications.

Field Portable

Despite heavy-duty capacity, all models remain portable for on-site pressure vessel work.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I choose II-Model over T-Model?

Choose II-Model when wall thickness exceeds 15mm, or when you need maximum rigidity for critical welds. T-Model is lighter and more compact for standard wall pipes up to 15mm.

Can II-Model handle stainless steel?

Yes, the II-Model processes carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, and alloy steels. Adjust feed rate and use appropriate carbide inserts for different materials.

What bevel profiles are possible?

Standard V-type (30°, 37.5°, 45°), compound bevel with land, J-prep with radius, and double-J for heavy wall symmetric joints.

How long does it take to bevel a 50mm wall pipe?

Typical cycle time for 50mm wall is 8-15 minutes depending on pipe diameter and bevel complexity. Multiple passes may be required for optimal surface finish.

What power supply is required?

Electric models use 220V/380V AC depending on motor size. Pneumatic models require 0.6-0.8 MPa compressed air at 1500-2500 L/min for heavy cutting.

Is special training required?

Yes, we recommend operator training for II-Model machines due to the heavy cutting forces involved. Training ensures safe operation and optimal tool life.

Are heavy-duty carbide inserts included?

Yes, II-Model machines come with reinforced carbide inserts designed for thick-wall applications. Spare insert packs are available for extended projects.
