SKF-15 Handheld Series Selection Guide: Reading This Datasheet
The SKF-15 (3-15mm plate, bevel width to 15mm) and SKF-18 (5-18mm, width to 18mm) are the lightest guided plate bevelers in the range at 4-6kg — light enough to carry up scaffolding, rigid enough to track a plate edge and hold a constant 15°-60° bevel angle. They fill the gap between a freehand grinder and a floor machine.
- Choose by plate program: SKF-15 for general 3-15mm work, SKF-18 when 16-18mm plate appears regularly.
- The continuously adjustable 15°-60° angle covers nearly every WPS; verify your required bevel width fits the model's maximum before assuming one pass.
- Thicker plate or production volumes belong on the self-propelled GL Series — handheld beveling above 18mm is possible but slow.
- For pipe rather than plate, see the HDL multi-function series, which adds curve and hole capability.
