GL Plate Beveler Series Selection Guide: Reading This Datasheet
Three GL models handle 4-80mm plate: GL-860 (0-60° angle, 250kg), GL-860L (0-90°, 220kg) and GL-880 (0-90°, 6.4kW, 310kg). All are self-propelled edge millers — clamp on the plate edge, set angle and depth, and the machine drives itself along the seam. The series is the compact alternative to the heavier DMM traveling machines for shops that need machined bevels without a 450kg footprint.
- GL-880's 6.4kW spindle is the production pick — nearly double the cutting power of the 860 models for deep bevels in one pass.
- Need angles past 60° (J-preps, steep double bevels)? That rules out the base GL-860; take the 860L or 880.
- At 220-310kg these move by crane or forklift between stations — for machines two workers can carry, look at the SKF-15 handheld.
- For plates beyond 80mm or continuous heavy production, the DMM traveling series is the next step up.
