SKF-150L Capless Beveler Selection Guide: Reading This Datasheet
The SKF-150L is a single-model series because one open-frame design covers what would otherwise take several machines: pipes from 114mm OD with no upper limit, plus flat and curved plate from 5-25mm. The machine rides the workpiece edge on guide rollers instead of encircling it, which is why the diameter column in the table reads "unlimited" — a 300mm pipe and a 4-meter vessel shell are the same job to it.
- Confirm your smallest pipe is at least 114mm OD — below that the guide rollers cannot follow the curvature, and an OD-mounted beveler fits better.
- Bevel angle changes between 30°, 37.5° and 45° are a plate swap, not an adjustment — order the angle sets you weld to.
- At 35kg the machine is two-person portable; site crews should plan lifting for repositioning on vertical seams.
- For plate-only programs above 25mm thickness, move up to the GL or DMM traveling machines.
