The DMM-1232 bevels both plate edges in a single pass — top and bottom cutter heads work simultaneously on 5-60mm plate at up to 45°, producing K and X weld preparations without flipping the plate. For heavy plate, the flip-crane-flip cycle is usually the slowest step in edge prep; removing it is this machine's entire value proposition, and at 7.5kW and 420kg it is built for continuous production duty.
- Justify it on flip count: if plates above roughly 20mm get double-sided preps daily, the eliminated crane cycles repay the machine quickly; occasional X-preps are cheaper done on a single-sided machine in two passes.
- Bevel angle tops at 45° per side — steeper single-side preps belong on a DMM traveling machine with its 0-90° head.
- Plate range is 5-60mm; above 60mm, double-sided preps revert to two-pass work on the DMM-900.
