Planetary Pipe Cutting Series Selection Guide: Reading This Datasheet
The planetary table lists five frame sizes (3.0 through 13.5) in two motor fits — Flex and Metabo — plus an automatic-feed model. Frame size sets the OD window, from 5-78mm on the 3.0 up to 140-330mm on the 13.5; motor choice does not change capacity, it changes service ecosystem and site voltage preferences. All models cold-cut walls of 0.5-8mm, the thin-wall territory where saws crush and abrasive discs burr.
- Choose frame by OD window first: 3.0 (5-78mm), 4.5 (19-120mm), 6.5 (20-170mm), 8.5 (59-220mm), 13.5 (140-330mm).
- Flex vs Metabo is a motor-brand choice, not a capability choice — pick whichever brand your maintenance bench already stocks parts for.
- The Automatic Planetary model (20-170mm) adds powered feed for production cells cutting the same size all day.
- Wall capacity tops out at 8mm — thicker walls belong on a DCM stationary machine or clamshell.
