DMM-YG Large Pipe Milling Series Selection Guide: Reading This Datasheet
The two YG machines bring plate-beveler architecture to very large pipe: they ride the pipe surface and mill the end prep on diameters above 800mm, where no chuck or clamshell frame reaches economically. The DMM-YG-60 machines 5-45mm walls with bevels to 30mm width; the DMM-YG-80 extends to 100mm walls and 65mm bevel width at 25°-70° — penstock, monopile and wind-tower territory.
- Wall thickness decides between the two: YG-60 for walls to 45mm (4kW), YG-80 for the 45-100mm range (6kW).
- Bevel width capacity differs sharply — 30mm versus 65mm — check your WPS prep dimensions on thick-wall joints before assuming the smaller machine.
- Below 800mm diameter, conventional pipe machines are faster to set up: see the Split Frame Series up to 1830mm OD.
- These are crane-positioned machines; plan seam access and machine staging the way you would for a traveling plate beveler, not a portable tool.
